  3. Asian Games
The Asian Games, also known as the Asiad, is the 2nd largest multi-sport event in the world next to the Olympic Games itself. Since its beginnings in 1951, the event has grown in popularity in Asia, with the rest of the world following its progress. It showcases local Asian talents in dozens of sports categories, although it has met with controversy, particularly when Israel was refused participation by Indonesia in 1962.
infinitybet have markets available on a large number of events throughout the games.
Here’s a preview of some of the must watch events in Incheon.
In Wushu, China is set to dominate again after winning 199 gold medals last Asiad in Guangzhou. In Wrestling, Japan and Iran will likely be the two darlings of the contest. Iran winning 7 of 18 events in Guangzhou, while Japan has won the most overall medals of the events.
Weightlifting, a sport plagued by numerous drug violations, will also be a spectacle in Incheon as China is expected to cruise through the events and get another large pile of gold medals.
China and Japan are also expected to dominate again in the volleyball events.
South Korea is set to get the gold in soft tennis (the version tennis played with a softer ball) this year.
Songdo Central Park, the place where Psy’s Gangnam Style video was shot will hold the triathlon events where Japan is favourite to take the golds.
China again is set to dominate table tennis, basketball, swimming, athletics, badminton, rowing, pentathlon, sailing, and shooting;while Malaysia is set to reign again in Squash with their superstar Nicol David. Thailand will be the favorites in SepakTakraw, which is essentially heading or kicking a rattan ball across a net without using hands.
Soccer will be played without the superstars as clubs are not required to release them, but Japan is set to dominate again, as well as in Rugby, being Asia’s giant of that sport. Karate and Judo events will surely showcase Japan, being the country where the martial arts originated, and Korea will dominate handball while Pakistan and China will put on a great show playinghockey.
In Gymnastics, expect China to win most golds, with Hong Kong looking to dominate Cycling even with their issues with the venue due to it being 83 meters longer than the Olympic standards.
The Asian Games is a must watch event showcasing the best athletes in the continent. The excitement is exponentially building up!
